I spent a number of weeks putting together a travel video highlighting all what I did from Germany all the way through to Turkey. I had a lot of fun editing it and even more fun filming it, only wish I filmed more of the people I met. Next time!

Size comparison
If I was travelling more into the winter months I definitely wouldve packed a bigger bag but I absolutely love the size of this bag. It fits everywhere I can!
Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes and Zadar
I spent only a night in Zagreb and it was the one city where I didn’t have a clue where anything was. Definitely needed a map for that place, thank you Monica for directing me to the bus station. Went to Plitvice lakes in the morning and they were pretty spectacular. Makes me realize how fortunate I am living in Calgary though when we have similar parks only an hour away. I got hit with a cold so at first I wasn’t enjoying it, especially with all the crowd (I couldn’t imagine it during peak season) but once you get past the grandma-friendly trails its pretty easy going. I was soaked by the end of it. Arrived in Zadar yesterday evening and am enjoying the break of smaller town and slower lifestyle so I decided to spend another night here. Off to Split tomorrow!
Off to Croatia
I touched a sloth yesterday. Went to the zoo and got to see some weird animals! Some I couldn’t tell you what they are because the latin and hungarian names are hard to remember. Went out to a nice restaurant (gourmet food — glass of wine, entree and dessert) for about $15. I’m going to miss these prices. Off to Croatia next, training it down to Zagreb, staying a night and then off to Plitvice Lakes in the morning. I’m looking forward to a little bit of down time.
Heideblütenfest
One common trend in German festivals is they all encourage gross amounts of drinking. This city of 20000 puts on this festival and it is huge for the size of the town. Return your cup and you get a Euro for more beer! Its hard to learn German when you’re a few deep I’ll tell ya, pretty sure these Germans speak better english than I do. Prost!

Sleepless in Frankfurt
This is the farthest away from home I’ve been. I was expecting champagne and confetti instead was met with a much unenthused German customs officer. Didn’t get any sleep on the flight. Although if you are looking for a cheap flight direct to Frankfurt I used Condor. The sites I used were hipmunk.com and Google Flights to book the cheapest flight. Make sure to browse flights in a private window.
The Polish babe beside me enjoyed my stories. I don’t think she understood what I was saying but she still laughed at my jokes, and y’know that’s important.
Things to learn and get better at:
– don’t look like an idiot when others are talking about you in a different language. ..still learning
– more coming soon
